Welsh firm brings solar health training to Africa
A Wales-based renewable energy services firm says its solar-powered devices can help improve the health of impoverished people in Africa.
Dulas has provided the charity Safe Hands for Mothers with a solar-powered DVD player that’s being used to train local health workers in all aspects of prenatal and postnatal care. The charity’s training film, “The Big Push, Making Pregnancy Safer, Ethiopia,” aims to help reduce the region’s high maternal mortality rates.
Dulas has also supplied electrification and water pumping systems to remote rural areas in Africa, Asia and Latin America, as well as solar-powered refrigerators to keep vaccines safe in developing nations.
