UK firms spend £2m on eco stuff
This seems a bit high to Greenbang, but if it’s true it’s not unwelcome.
On average, UK businesses are spending £2 million per annum on ECR (environmental and corporate responsibility) initiatives, according to a report published by business and financial advisers, Grant Thornton.
The survey of 200 large and medium businesses across the UK found that more than half (52%) of businesses currently allocate between 5-10% of turnover on environmental and corporate responsibility
issues.
Alysoun Stewart, Head of Grant Thornton’s Strategic Services Group, says:
“This is a fantastic start, and shows that businesses are digging deep when it comes to spending on environmental and corporate responsibility. These figures also showcase how seriously businesses are now taking these issues.”
