TransGrid spends $7.2m to boost asset efficiency

Australia’s TransGrid aims to improve the efficiency of its nearly $6 billion in electricity assets with the help of software from Mincom.

Under a deal worth $7.2 million, TransGrid will use Mincom software to manage assets, human resources, supply chains and field operations.

TransGrid, one of the largest high-voltage electricity transmission network operators in Australia, operates assets that provide power to more than three million households and businesses across New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. Its system includes 91 substations, 12,600 kilometres of transmission lines, 36,000 transmission-line structures and a workforce of more than 1,000 employees.

“Utility companies around the world face significantly greater demand for energy due to rapid population growth, and must maximise the performance of their physical infrastructure and workforce to ensure continued reliability of service,” said Greg Clark, CEO of Mincom.
