Top 10 greener gadgets? You decide

blightWhich designs should make the year’s top 10 list of greener gadgets? Organisers of the Greener Gadgets Conference, set for Feb. 27 in New York City, have unveiled their list of the top 50 candidates … and you can vote for your favorites online now through Feb. 20.

The nominees cover a wide span of green gadgetry, from solar-powered window blinds that light up at night (clever, though given the unfortunate moniker of “Blight”) to a “Guilty Wallet” design that invokes the Seven Deadly Sins to prompt one to ask before buying, “Do I really need this?”

The Greener Gadgets 2009 conference is focused on the future of sustainability for the consumer electronics industry. This year’s event is expected to feature presentations from such gadget gurus as inventor extraordinaire Saul Griffith; Stephen Harper, global director of environment and energy policy for Intel; Emily Pilloton, founder and executive director of Project H Design; and Andy Leventhal, founder and CEO of Planet Metrics.
