Suntech supplies panels for Swiss solar project

solar-panels-in-fieldPhotovoltaic (PV) module manufacturer Suntech Power Holdings will supply solar panels to solar system integrator Sunergic SA of Switzerland for a 1-megawatt solar system for Services Industriels de Geneve (SIG), a Swiss utility.

The project will be one of the largest solar installations in Switzerland to date.

“Switzerland has demonstrated a clear commitment to pursuing sustainable energy solutions and we are pleased to partner with Sunergic to bring solar into the mix,” said Jerry Stokes, Suntech’s VP of Strategy and Business Development. “With Suntech’s European headquarters located in Schaffhausen, we are in the process of uncovering the potential for more solar projects in Switzerland and other new markets across Europe.”
