Smart-grid software firm wins $2m in stimulus funds
A Colorado-based smart-grid company has received $2 million in federal stimulus funds to help continue to develop and market its software platform for utilities.
Green Energy Corp. received the loan through the Colorado Governor’s Energy Office Revolving Loan Fund.
The funding will provide working capital for Green Energy Corp to continue development and marketing of the GreenBus Smart Grid software platform, which is designed to help power utilities modernize their operations, increase their efficiency and automate many processes.
GreenBus enables utilities and microgrid operators to incrementally adopt smart technology without disrupting the performance of their existing infrastructure. For example, the platform allows power providers to integrate renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, and biomass, and helps them to better manage electric vehicles.
