Smart-grid ed project targets high school students
The Vids4Grids project is targeting students in high school and starting college with the goal of increasing awareness and creating interest in power systems careers to help develop the highly skilled workforce needed to build a national smart grid.
The project is led by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association in partnership with George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College. Vids4Grids is funded by the US Department of Energy’s Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability as one of 52 Recovery Act awards for workforce development. It is the only project specifically focused on developing videos as an educational tool.
