Sight seeing without the travel
Googlesightseeing’s motto is ‘see the world without travelling’.
It doesn’t sound like much fun, but there is an an eco-angle to it.
It looks like it’s not much more than Google’s Maps site, but someone has gone to the trouble of pulling out some of the world’s best travel spots…
It’s pretty cool actually. You can see things from hot slag in its formation to the largest swimming pool in the world.
Here’s what they say about the pool (not the one pictured above)…
“Apparently officially recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records, here in San Alfonso del Mar in Chile you can hardly miss the world’s largest swimming pool! This absolutely immense pool is 1 kilometre long and covers eight hectares – that’s 80,000 square metres! Furthermore, it contains an incredible 250,000 cubic metres of water. And yes, it’s right beside the beach, and no more than a stone’s throw… from the sea.”
