Shell on carbon trading

As one of the world’s biggest oil and energy companies, Shell comes in for its fair share of flak about its environmental footprint and policies.

Now there’s a chance to ask questions directly to Shell Group’s climate change advisor, David Hone, about one of the most controversial and divisive environmental issues – emissions trading.

He’s hosting two live webchats on 10 September where he’ll be discussing the emissions trading scheme, looking at the benefits and drawbacks of carbon trading and the feasibility of expanding current systems to create a global carbon trading scheme.

Greenbang’s already commented on emissions trading many times, raising concerns that the policy doesn’t encourage a change in behaviour across the board and allows the biggest polluters to continue doing so.
