Red Herring names 100 top Euro tech firms

technologyTechnology media company Red Herring has announced the winners of its Red Herring 100 Europe 2009 awards for most promising technology companies.

The winners include:

  • Epuramat, a Luxembourg-based firm that provides innovative systems for the efficient treatment of wastewater;
  • Oslo-based Rubberduck Media Lab, which makes TV and video work on handsets;
  • Israel-based PLYmedia, which provides a language and closed captioning system that enables online publishers to target an audience beyond native English speakers;
  • Clearpace Software of Gloucester, which provides long-term data archiving services;
  • Belfast’s SLA Mobile, which provides high-tech platforms and services for mobile phone operators;
  • OpenTrust of Paris, a provider of online security services; and
  • Oversi, based in Israel, which offers a multiservice platform for over-the-top content, including Internet video, peer-to-peer (P2P) and other media applications.
