Programme to focus on 'Keeping the lights on'
David Clarke, CEO at the Energy Technologies Institute (ETI), will offer a lecture on “Keeping the lights on — affordable engineering and technology solutions.”
The free lecture is scheduled for 5 to 8 pm 8 June at Cranfield University.
The programme will focus on pressures facing the UK energy system, requirements for substantial upgrading and the challenges of climate change.
The UK Government has estimated that an investment of around £100 billion will be required to reach its target for having 15 per cent of all energy come from renewable sources by 2020. Currently, less than 3 per cent comes from renewable sources.
The ETI was established to accelerate the development of engineering solutions for affordable, reliable and clean-energy systems.
