Norwich to host Sustainable Living Festival

violetThe first Norwich and Norfolk Sustainable Living Festival will be launched next week thanks to a public engagement project run by the University of East Anglia.

The university created Community University Engagement (CUE) East last year as one of six Beacons for Public Engagement projects in the UK.

The free 10-day festival, which kicks off Friday, will focus on aspects on practical living in a sustainable way and will feature films, workshops, competitions, lectures, interactive exhibits and more. The festival will culminate in a three-day BBC Garden Design Event in association with Easton College and the Norfolk Nursery Network.

More than 30 groups and organisations are involved with the festival and will be providing free tips and information on everything from energy saving, cycle maintenance and green travel to permaculture, composting, and seed planting.
