Nordic battery maker named a cleantech leader

battery2.jpgReVolt Technology, a technology company that’s developed a rechargeable zinc-air battery, was among the Scandinavian firms recently named as Nordic Cleantech 50 Leaders.

The list was developed by The Cleantech Group in partnership with Cleantech Scandinavia, a Nordic network for cleantech investors.

“Whilst the current economic climate has given rise to some valid concerns over the potential for investment into cleantech, there are promising signs that this relatively inexperienced market will flourish in the years to come,” said Magnus Agerström of Cleantech Scandinavia. “The companies taking part in this year’s report all demonstrate commitment to placing the Nordics at the forefront of innovation in the cleantech sector.”

ReVolt’s zinc-air, rechargeable battery technology provides a high-energy solution for consumer and industrial market applications that is environmentally safe, reusable and recyclable. Revolt’s zinc-air technology offers up to three times the energy density of lithium-ion batteries.
