- Biofuels firm Range Fuels has picked Emerson Process Management to help it bring online the first commercial cellulosic biofuel plant in the US, to be located in Georgia;
- Massachusetts-based First Wind has received approval from Maine officials to build a 25.5-megawatt expansion of its Stetson Wind project near Danforth, Maine;
- Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation this week announced the launch of a new global research institute focused on energy, the environment and health care;
- Todd Stern, the US’s top climate negotiator, urged Congress to enact limits on greenhouse gas emissions but said it’s “not possible” for the nation to curb emissions by the Bali goal of 25 to 40 percent by 2020;
- Nissan Motor Company and the Japanese city of Yokohama have teamed up to launch “Yokohama Mobility Project Zero,” an initiative that aims to achieve zero-emissions mobility in the city.
