  • A new report published by the Sustainable Development Commission finds that, despite significant steps toward reducing waste, water consumption and emissions from road travel, Government departments are still not on course to meet their own target for reducing carbon emissions and must do more if they are to meet UK-wide targets for 80 per cent emissions reductions by 2050;
  • Garry Felgate, chief executive of the Energy Retail Association, says smart meters will help consumers reduce their home energy costs by making bills more accurate;
  • FedEx’s CEO said this week that his company will aim to cut its transportation costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by aiming to get 30 per cent of its fuel from petroleum alternatives by 2030;
  • BKW FMB Energy Ltd. and the juwi Group, a developer of renewable energy projects, have entered into a strategic partnership and founded a joint venture, BKWind.
