Kyocera seminar to focus on business carbon cuts
Document imaging company Kyocera Mita will host a Green Card Seminar this summer to help organisations better understand how the Carbon Reduction Commitment will impact on work practices.
The event is set for 9.30 am to 12.30 pm on 9 July at 100 Longwater Avenue, GreenPark, Reading.
With the Carbon Reduction Commitment now predicted to affect as many as 20,000 UK organisations from 2010, the spotlight is back on energy consumption. While energy prices have fallen from their 2008 peak, the introduction of this cap-and-trade scheme will demand renewed focus on efficient energy use. Whilst data centres have made the headlines until now, the impact of desktop devices and office imaging equipment cannot be ignored.
The Green Card Conference will outline the key impacts of office printing and copying on energy consumption, address ways in which organisations can reduce electricity bills immediately and offer strategies for driving down energy use in the future.
The event’s scheduled speakers include Tracey Rawling Church, director of brand and reputation at Kyocera Mita; Henry Garthwaite, business development manager at The Carbon Trust Standard Company; and Dan Ilett, editor of Greenbang.
“This summer’s Green Card Seminar is an excellent opportunity for organisations to share best practice and learn about how the Carbon Reduction Commitment will affect businesses in the future,” said Rawling Church. “Once again we’re honoured to have such a distinguished speaker line-up and we are looking forward to what will undoubtedly be a morning full of valuable debate.”
