Hawaii plans massive state-wide solar power

This will be big if it comes off.

Hawaii is planning to build a dozen large solar power stations around the state.

BusinessWeek says this could generate 34 megawatts of electricity.

“This is one of the largest, if not the largest, state government solar initiatives in the nation,” said Ted Liu, director of the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.

Apparanetly, it’ll all be up and running within two years.
