Green St. aims to be wind energy leader

cleantech-wind-powerCalifornia-based Green St. Energy has obtained a three-year option to buy 4,840 acres of land in wind-energy-rich Tehachapi. The company already owns 160 acres in the area, purchased from the same property owner.

With some 10,000 wind turbines already spinning across the landscape, the Tehachapi valley area boasts “one of the highest concentrations of wind power generators in the US,” according to Green St. Energy.

“While we were pleased by our previous acquisition of a small amount of acreage, we believe that the option to acquire a substantial amount of property in a prime location in Tehachapi positions Green St. Energy as a significant landholder in one of the most prolific wind production areas of the country,” said Tony Cataldo, chairman and CEO of Green St. Energy. “We look forward to developing this property, as we believe that Green St. Energy is now well positioned to become one of the leading participants in the wind power generation market.”
