German auto-maker launches concept car study

A German automotive manufacturer has chosen Semcon, a Sweden-based engineering services company, as its development partner in a pilot study for a new concept car. The combined order for 2009 amounts to around SEK 50 million and the first phase of the project will run for the duration of the year.

The study will seek a range of technical innovations covering fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.

“This project is a further stage in our long collaboration with this client,” said Stefan Ohlsson, president of Semcon Automotive R&D. “It’s very pleasing that in these times that are characterized by recession and major uncertainty on the market, we have brought home an order on the back of our cutting-edge skills.”
