It also provides wireless in-home networking so it can be integrated with smart thermostats, smart appliances and other home-area networking technologies. Among the utilities that have installed — or are in the process of installing — Itron meters are Southern California Edison (more than one million so far), DTE Energy, San Diego Gas & Electric and CenterPoint Energy.
