Firm promotes nanotech coatings for energy efficiency
Florida-based Industrial Nanotech Inc. is launching a nationwide campaign to encourage US governors to consider its insulating coating products as a way to boost energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
Industrial Nanotech produces a line of Nansulate(R) products that use nanotechnology to create water-based, low-VOC specialty coatings that can be applied to surfaces like paint. The corrosion-preventing and mold-resistant coatings can block thermal flow through walls by 34.8 percent, according to the company.
“Our shareholders and customers are joining us in this campaign, writing their governors and urging them to use Nansulate to help save energy and lower energy expenses, an important component of reviving the fiscal health of the states,” said Francesca Crolley, vice president of operations and marketing for Industrial Nanotech.
The company points to many high-level customers that have already used its products to improve energy efficiency in their buildings, including the Pearl Harbor Naval Facility, New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
