Cox Communications adds demand response services

Cox Communications has enlisted the help of Legends Energy Group to provide demand response services for all Cox Virginia locations.

Under the agreement, Cox will receive a payment by reducing its electricity during times of stress on the electric grid.

Legends, a group of sports figures that includes NFL Hall of Famers Bruce Smith and Thurman Thomas, markets energy programs to businesses across the US. The organisation partners with the demand response firm Energy Curtailment Specialists Inc., which administers the program. Other partners include BidURenergy, a gas and electricity marketplace, and energy services company Ace Energy.
