- Borrowing a line from the classic comedy “Animal House,” Australia’s top climate advisor classified his country’s proposed carbon emissions trading scheme as worthless and weak;
- Energy Efficiency News reports that researchers at Singapore’s Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology have found a way to transform carbon dioxide into the biofuel methanol;
- PV manufacturer Suntech Power Holdings Co. and Soleos Solar GmbH, a PV systems integrator, today announced that they have entered into agreements for Suntech to supply Soleos with at least 6 megawatts of modules in the first half of 2009;
- World Trade Week, the first event of its kind in the UK, will take place this year from 8 to 12 June and will highlight the importance of global trade in creating jobs and growth in the current economic climate;
- In Nuremberg the world’s first generator with coils made of high-temperature superconductors (HTS) has been running continuously for half a year without problems. Now, Siemens scientists are presenting the research and development project at the multi-party exhibition stand “SuperconductingCity” at the Hannover Trade Fair.
