China plans ‘Three Gorges’ wind farm

Beijing may be choking in smog in the run up to the Olympic Games next week but in an attempt to promote its green credentials China has revealed plans to build the world’s biggest wind farm.

It will include three wind-powered plants in the northwest of the country with an annual electricity generation capacity of 28 billion kWh when completed – greater than that of the Three Gorge Dams. More details on this report on CCTV.
