China gets serious about wind
More power news from China, this time on the subject of wind. Apparently, with a bit of government support, China could soon be on the leaderboard of wind power producing countries.
Li Junfeng, alternative energy expert, told China Daily:
-
“With greater policy support to wind energy, China could become one of the top three wind energy markets in the world by 2020.”
The article goes on to say that China is now fifth in the world for wind farms – up from tenth two years ago.
And there’s more: the city of Guangzhou has seen the start of construction of the world’s largest production base for magnetic levitation wind power generators – a 400 million yuan project, no less.
