AT&T, E3 team up for home energy opimisation

AT&T and Georgia-based startup E3 Greentech are partnering to provide wireless access to a central unit, the home-based E3 Intelligent Bridge, that’s designed to help homeowners and property managers optimise their energy use by automatically reducing energy waste.

E3 Greentech’s Home Energy Management System (HEMS) uses a cloud-based services platform and intelligent software in combination with in-home energy optimisation hardware to help cut energy costs. It provides property owners with the ability to more effectively monitor and manage energy consumption and automatically reduce energy waste.

The E3 solution uses adaptive software and techniques capable of learning and dynamically optimising energy use with the premise to match — rather than control — consumer behaviour.  The smart-grid technology can deliver energy savings of 15 per cent or greater and reductions in peak energy demand of 25 per cent or greater, according to E3.
