Arup, Mitsui team up for low-carbon city projects

Arup and Mitsui & Co Ltd have signed an agreement to pursue the creation of a joint venture that will focus on the development of low-carbon projects around the world.

The joint venture will offer municipal governments and corporate clients the ability to plan, engineer and implement measures to help them achieve energy and carbon reduction targets.

The venture is the next step in ongoing collaboration between the two companies, which began a year ago. To date, project successes range from low-carbon investment initiatives in European cities and investment in air-source heat pumps, to the research of low-carbon projects to be funded by the purchase of emission reduction units through the Kyoto Protocol.
