Aptera's all-electric 2e gets test drive
Attendees at this week’s TED (for “Technology, Entertainment, Design”) conference in California are getting a chance to test-drive Aptera’s ultra-efficient 2e vehicle.
“It’s not a car, it’s a vehicle,” declares TED blogger Jane Wulf, who detailed TEDster Josh Goldman’s two-mile drive around Long Beach in the super-aerodynamic Aptera creation.
The 2e “may very well be the most efficient production vehicle in the world,” say co-founders Steve Ambro and Chris Anthony. The vehicle, they say, is designed to follow nature and glide “through the wind instead of pushing it.”
The company has also begun accepting reservations from would-be 2e buyers (only in California, however). The all-electric, 100-mile-per-hour (161 kilometres per hour) vehicle is expected to be available sometime this year.
