A wind farm sprouts before your eyes
This time-lapse video from Puget Sound Energy (PSE) shows the recent assembly of three large wind-power turbines over a 48-hour-period at phase one of PSE’s Lower Snake River Wind Project. PSE’s third — and largest — wind-power facility, the project is located in Washington state about 300 miles southeast of Seattle.
When it’s completed in early 2012, the Lower Snake River Wind Project will feature 149 2.3-megawatt wind turbines from Siemens Energy. The installation will be able to generate 343 megawatts of electricity, enough to serve about 100,000 households.
