A new clean energy-focused search engine: reegle
Several European public organisations have come together to launch a new search engine focused on renewable energy and energy efficiency.
The reegle Website features a searchable global map where users can click on locations to get information on the latest news, events and green-energy development projects for that area. The site also offers energy-oriented profiles for each country, statistics, information on green-energy policies and regulations, and a news feed with stories from a number of environmental, energy efficiency and renewable energy news sites.
“The new reegle website is unique in the way it takes the flood of information and news that is available on green energy, categorises it and makes it so accessible,” says Florian Bauer, the site’s product manager. “We’re also placing a strong emphasis on quality of information, instead of leaving users to sift through to find the nuggets themselves. Experts can quickly find exactly the information they need, and newcomers get a good overview.”
The reegle Website is provided by REEEP (Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership) and REN21 (Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century), with funding from the British Department of the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, the Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management.
