£10m to green London's government buildings
London mayor Ken Livingston plans to spend £10m to cut carbon emissions from the city’s public sector buildings.
Among the first buildings to be targeted is Transport for London’s headquarters (although we’d like it if they could just get the tube running first), along with the Met, London Fire and Emergency Planning, and so on.
The contract for a range of energy efficiency services, including surveying and auditing current performance and recommending imporvements, is intended as the first step in a strategy to slash the carbon footprint of the capital’s public sector offices.
